Gift cards for members
GBRAR has some Wal-mart gift cards available for members impacted by the flooding. If you are a GBRAR member and have flood damage you can pick up your gift card at either our main office on Perkins Road or a temporary Livingston office we are going to set up on Florida Blvd near Denham Springs. Please call 225-761-2000 on Tuesday for more information. Thanks to Louisiana REALTORS for contributing funds to purchase these cards.

Temporary housing
GBRAR is collecting information about housing available for those displaced by floods. Several folks have contacted us with details about rentals they have available for immediate occupancy. Please reply to this email if you'd like more details.

BBB's advice following flooding
In light of thew widespread flooding throughout the Baton Rouge area, BBB of South Central Louisiana is warning homeowners affected by the disaster to beware of "storm chasers" and out-of-town soliciting businesses and contractors. Read more.

The Louisiana Business Emergency Operations Center (LA BEOC) is activated and assisting the state with the response and recovery of the current historic flooding event. 

Please go to labeoc.org to view News Alerts and login to update your contact information if necessary. (LA BEOC is open to any Louisiana business or organization, and there is no cost to join.)
 

Flood Recovery Resources Available to Louisiana Businesses

 
The President Sunday (Aug. 14) declared a major disaster exists in Louisiana and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by severe storms and flooding beginning Aug. 11, and continuing.
 
This declaration makes available a number of federal resources to individuals and businesses impacted by the floods in parishes of East Baton Rouge, Livingston, St. Helena and Tangipahoa.

Register With FEMA

Businesses who sustained losses in the designated parishes can begin applying for assistance today by registering online at disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA.

Apply for a Small Business Administration Disaster Loan

Loans up to $2 million for small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and most private, nonprofit organizations of all sizes that have suffered disaster-related cash flow problems and need funds for working capital to recover from the disaster’s adverse economic impact.
